xbox 360 480p questioin.

So I see that the xbox will output 480p by why only in the 4:3 aspect ratio? I have an EDTV (plasma) and it of course is 480p 16:9. It appears that I'll have to by a new plasma to enjoy the 360 in it's full glory.

letterbox, widescreen options should be in the menu somewhere

I was able to do 420p/widescreen on my dad's sanyo CRT HDTV. Its in the same area where you pick your output rez. I'm not at home so I can't tell you exactly right now. The top option is where you pick your res, then the next one lets you pick either wide or standard aspect.
1080i worked Pretty good too. But, since it was a CRT, no 720p
