My current setup (s939 amd) has an XClio 450BL PSU in it and i've been rather pleased with it. What I'm wondering is if I can save some cash on my conroe build and scavenge it into the new setup. I will be using a lot of existing parts from the AMD build (drives, HDDs, case, etc) to cut down on costs, but I will also be changing quite a few things.
It should end up along these lines:
C2D E6600
Asus mobo (waiting until the selection is better)
2gb pc2-4200
ATi x1900xt
The case has 2x120mm and I'll add a third with the scythe ninja - probably Yate Loons
1x Seagate 7200.7 SATA drive
1x WD 180gb IDE drive (storage)
2x optical drives (dvd-rom and cd/dvd-rw)
I will not be overclocking anything (hence the pc2-4200 RAM) so everything will be running stock. I doubt I'll end up going crossfire, but if I do I don't mind buying a new PSU when I do. If I had to go to a new PSU for the build, I was leaning towards the enermax whisper 535w, but if I can save the cash that'd be great.
From my calculations I think a 450w PSU would be sufficient for a non-oc conroe system, but I figured I'd double-check to make sure.
Thanks.
