Yeah gotcha - that's an older picture after you guys helped me. Shits coaxed in paste now.that^^ and your mount pressure is uneven.
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed this!Amazon or Thermalright keeps changing where link link goes. I don't follow up on this very often so it is hard for me to keep up. The PA120SE is still $35.90. If my original link takes you to another PA120 from a different Thermalright Direct store (there seems to be 3 or more on Amazon) you can still search for 'peerless assassin 120 se' and find the proper store. The OP link has been updated, but will likely change again due to Amazon or Thermalright shenanigins.
they must be shuffling links/prices, my og link shows $39.Amazon or Thermalright keeps changing where link link goes. I don't follow up on this very often so it is hard for me to keep up. With the way prices are up on everything, amazing that it's still $35.90usd and fits AM5.Still able to pick one up for $35.90 so I got one for a 3800X or 3900X depending on what I decide to rearrange.
I don't use pbo or anything, just run my 5950x at stock. But I cpu mine with it, so I keep the fans at 100% (noise doesn't bother me) and this cooler keeps my CPU in the mid-70s, while fully loaded at 4.3-4.4Ghz. I don't think I could ask for more, considering how little it cost.Overall - I'm enjoying the cooler after roughly 5 or so months.
Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of 80C+ temps.
My 5900X is all over the place with temperatures just by a fraction of increasing or decreasing it's voltage/frequency.
Overall - to avoid eventual crashing in game or stress testing, I've got my 5900X @4.6 GHZ all cores with a standard voltage. And it's sitting roughly around 70C for most games. And about 80C in BF 2042.
Now, I can absolutely lower to 4.2 ghz all core and it doesn't reach above 58C, no matter the application.
However, I lose about 5 to 10% framerate. Funny how noticeable it is.
With PBO enabled, and full on having it go full HAM, forget it. 85C is easy to hit regardless of my fan curve. And I don't see really any improvement in framerate.
Overall, this cooler is good. My CPU is just bipolar AF.

I had a 5950x and a 3900x. For both, my best results didn't come from Curve Optimizer, PBO, or messing with the PPT. Also, not doing an ALL core overclock.Overall - I'm enjoying the cooler after roughly 5 or so months.

I ordered one for the same reasons. If my AIO springs a leak or pump takes a shit this will be a more than adequate interim cooler.I might have to grab one of these just to have a backup for the liquid cooling or for testing something. It really puts these triple digit air coolers to shame. Good on ya, thermalright.

probably cuz iTz NoCTUA and the fan is 1dB QUIeTr
I see the 7th heat pipe, may be worth it for AM5. make sure you provide data. There is a Phantom Spirit 120 SE for $39.90. Apparently the same thing, but with 7 heat pipes. $5 more. I decided to go with that.
Phantom Spirit.
Was it worth the $5 extra? Hopefully. I am planning to use it on CPUs over AM5 and maybe some of those might get a little hotter.
think its been posted here somewhere, we all bought them a couple months ago. there a tiny improvement, couple degrees, basically on par with the d15. but for $40!There is a Phantom Spirit 120 SE for $39.90. Apparently the same thing, but with 7 heat pipes. $5 more. I decided to go with that.

edit: its in the "Current best cooler" thread and anywhere someone mentions a "ps120"
