daft question but how do you remove the bottom front stock fan please ?
I know you have to remove or move forward hdd cage - but my problem is that I can't seem to remove the bottom 2 screws .... you can undo them a few turns but then the screws buts up against the case ... so I can't see...
I tried a side intake fan earlier in the week - ditched it though as didn't make any difference to temps
I have noticed FAR more dust on the front intake for the Corsair I replaced with a Gentle Typhoon 1850 (running lower rpm than that though) than for the Corsair below that I have not...
re side fan - intake or exhaust ?
I'm trying to improve cooling in my 550d (love the case just could do with better temps)
atm I have
Front Bottom : Stock fan
Front Top: Gentle Typhoon 1850
Rear: Enermax 140mm
Side : Closed
Top: Closed
Bottom: Gentle Typhoon 1150
IMO if anything case needs...
no issues here - I didn't see rest of your original post did you say that it was having problems with 2x8 Samsung ?
I'm running 4x4gb Samsung Green on a Gene V and its a superb motherboard for memory - I'm running at CAS10 2000, 1.45V but have had it running 2400 with no issues
I found it odd there was no annoucement/fanfare on the front page of Hardocp
as it seemed to be a "first" you thought it would be well promoted- I had to dig to find this thread

just wondered if there was a reason not to use them if you have a decent - but older PSU ?
my Tagan Dual-Engine 700W, has 4x12V Rails - each being 20A - and has 2xPCI-E power cables, but they are only 6 pin...
the big difference anyway is a 360 is far too noisey for un-obtrustive media playback in the domestic living room !
even if you have a decent 5.1 setup like I do ... you'll hear it whining away in quiet passages ! very annoying
well I had both (I had at one point 2 360s one for gaming and one for media playback(different rooms) and a PS3 ...
360 output looked rather soft and colours weren't too accurate
you are also limited on 360 on how to stream high quality video material to it ... to preserve 5.1 the only...
problem is PQ is not that hot from a 360 for media playback ... so it depends what you want
faff and superb picture quality (PS3)
ease of use and average picture quality (360)
Mark.
I've had both for dedicated media playback and overall the pros and cons are as follows:
I kept the PS3 - and very pleased
XBOX 360
Pros
Nice GUI - using MyMovies and it looks superb
Cons
Not as good PQ as PS3 (even through HDMI)
VERY NOISEY (I had a Falcon chipset one too)...
I LOVE flightsims on the PC (I have a 360 and PS3 as well :) ) but I know the amount of development vs the number of sales is low - therefore they become rarer and rarer
conversely a "rubbish" - non-top rated console game would get more sales for them unfortunately
