If the system was dropped and the symptoms appeared after that, it's extremely likely the hard drive is messed up.
However, if the issues showed up on their own after a few weeks/months, it's more difficult to determine if the drive is the issue or if it's software corruption.

If you use Videora you'll have to decrypt the dvd first with something like DVD decrypter. I would suggest checking up on some of the guide links on this thread first for more details.
In the preferences for DVD decrypter you'll want to make sure it doesn't split the video files into 1gb...
Yes, make sure you're port mapping port 80 and whatever other ports you're using to your Mac Mini.

I would take your battery and your powerbook into an Applestore. If you have your receipt for the battery bring it as well as it has a 1 year warranty.
You can also try calling 1-800-APL-CARE and let them know what the deal is with your battery. The fact that the old one works fine leads me...
I use my powerbook the same way.. most of the time it's plugged in.
My battery lasts very close to the same amount of time as when I got it (if not exactly the same), so I doubt you'll have any issues by leaving it plugged in.
I have seen it suggested that you want to calibrate the battery...
You can add the person to your Address Book with whatever name you want them to show up as, and enter their msn account in the IM section (choose MSN from the pulldown menu too).
Adium grabs the contact info from your Address Book.. it can be both annoying and useful at times.
