I would get the Samsung XL2370 for gaming. It'll be a lot like your 226BW in terms of response but it does have a lot deeper blacks than regular tns and less backlight bleed.

I absolutely love mine, it is much nicer than the typical tn displays I've owned before. I liked mine so much I convinced a friend to get one and they feel the same way I do. For gaming I'd say its the best bang for the buck right now if you don't need any more size.

The customized key is the second from the left, it is simply a key that you can change the function of in the settings menu. Does your graphics card have a dvi port? that is what I use and haven't had any issues.
