Supermicro IPMI failover, does it occupy the whole NIC?

The failover option makes the nic act like a three port switch with IPMI, normal i210 nic and the connection to the rest of your network. If you go into the IPMI web interface you can change the failover mode.

Worth Upgrading Server to Ivy Bridge E5-2xxx V2?

You aren't alone in this hobby. I started collecting Netware servers for home use when I was in high school with sites like 2cpu for help when I moved to dual PII's and NT4 which was a long time ago. Going the IT route did make the hobby slightly less enjoyable, doing other stuff now. Keep...

    LSI 9260-8i Transfer Speed Issues

Post more info on your config. RAID level, drives used, expander or direct connect, etc. My guess at this point is using consumer SSD's and the pause is for garbage collection.

HOT - Dell S2825cdn Multifunction Color Laser Printer $150 shipped!

I can confirm the scanner assembly from an H825cdw works on the s2825cdn. I did have to reuse my ADF, not sure if the issue I was seeing was the replacement ADF being bad, missing parts or the replacement ADF being rev A0 vs A1. The control panel from the H825cdw also appears to work. It has...

HOT - Dell S2825cdn Multifunction Color Laser Printer $150 shipped!

I am on the same firmware as you, 201802280649. Tried updating to the latest but isn't taking it. 062-380 seems to be a common error on Dell and Xerox printers. On the Dell ones it seems to come up shortly after the warranty is up. Only fix I am seeing is replacing some parts in the scanner. I...

HOT - Dell S2825cdn Multifunction Color Laser Printer $150 shipped!

14 months, 152 pages later and the printer is dead. 062-380 code on the scanner which prevents the printer from working. Dell shows $186.55 to extend the warranty online which fails, on the phone they say they can't extend the warranty and I can't find parts for the scanner.

Here is a pic of the box with a Fedex guy for scale. The delivery vehicle may be a bigger concern for some.

We Found All Your Missing Mail

I guess I am lucky, my carrier is slightly less lazy and uses the ditch next to my mail mailbox. I just wish I had kept the video of him doing it but I did keep five others from the last two months.

    Stupid Criminal of the Day

At least it makes it to your door. My regular USPS driver is so lazy packages are left on top of the mailbox. If they are too big they get tossed on the ground in the mud. The driver that covers occasionally for the regular guy is a bit better. He actually turns into my driveway leans out the...

Z170 motherboards and M.2 slot questions

The Supermicro board is decent but like has already been stated they are out of touch with the enthusiast market. I did have to update the bios for the Samsung 950 to boot and it was from USB but that's never been an issue for me. The issues I had are things most people won't be concerned with...

Z170 motherboards and M.2 slot questions

I had that board for about a week before sending it back. It does work with a Samsung 950 pro. Ended up switching to an Asrock Z170 7+ which worked better for my setup. Both support PCIe connection through the M.2 slot.
