unfortunately, this mobo doesn't support s3 standby; hibernate resumes pretty quickly though. power usage is only 98w at idle with this combo, an x850xt and wd 36gb raptor. decodes all the 1080p mkvs ive got, peaking at about 50%. all in all, i'm impressed  .

i heard the deal yesterday came with the retail box processor, so there's hope for this one.
i have an xp-90 i'm using on my skt 478 p4, is there a conversion kit for skt 478 -> lga 775? i seem to recall my friend bought one once, and from fry's to boot.
the beauty of the previous deal was that seagate had an additional $21 rebate on the 400gb drives making them only $78. i'm glad i bought 7 back then, because similar deals have been slow to emerge.
the old 3.0s supposedly came with a lifetime warranty. my old one had a button go bad and i never traded it in because i knew they would just give me a 4.0. i wonder if i could swing a new 3.0 now?
i would also like to know this. perhaps a linux-based file server with some type of usb "output" port that would allow other computers to recognize the server's drives as if they were just normal external drives? it has to be possible, just a matter of whether the hardware exists yet.

IC7-Gs are picky as hell about ram when not used in 1:1. My ocz pc3500el would do 235 in 1:1, but wouldn't budge over 270fsb in any divider. This ram lets me go to like 280, but I'm still not convinced that my cpu is the limiting factor.
