There are two screaming deals on Newegg right now, after all rebates are mailed in here is the offers. $133 for a MSI GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) N460GTX Cyclone 768D5/OC Video Card VS $155 for a EVGA GeForce GTX 465 (Fermi) Superclocked 01G-P3-1467-AR Video Card Is $22 bucks worth the...

    ASUS P5K-E/WiFi-AP can't handle 1066 RAM

Yes and worse. I am finding that though it looks stable at the desktop the minute you start running a P5K-E board into a heavy game that if you are running a 1333fsb proc (your e6750 is the same chip I'm using and I'll bet if you look in either Everest or PCWizard you'll see it's being...

    ASUS P5K-E/WiFi-AP can't handle 1066 RAM

and that is an 800 fsb chip by nature chief, that's my point is that this mobo is rated for 1066 and even 1333 but people are only able to get stable using 800fsb parts to start out. Now my big question is is your ram either 1066 or 1333? If it's DDR2-800 that only further proves the point...

    Mobo Recommendation(p35 or x38)

Contrary to what I was told Intels own site states the P35 Express chipset can handle all the way up to DDR3. Now is the p35 "Express" chipset different then the P35? Is that the whole issue or is this just back to bad implimentation on ASUS' part. Just trying to figure this mess out. FYI...

    Mobo Recommendation(p35 or x38)

Considering what I am going through with that board and DDR2-1066 ram I would NOT use anything above DDR2-800 ram on that board. Please see my threads and responses for more details but long story short if you put anything above 800 ram on a p35 chipset your gambling with instability.

    Mobo Recommendation(p35 or x38)

Pretty much hit my point on the head chief and this is why I am having such a beef with ASUS right now. I am a victim of overzealous marketeers because of the fact when I ordered this board I was not aware the p35 chipset could not handle 1066 ram. Now being the types we on here are you think...

    Mobo Recommendation(p35 or x38)

All I want to contribute is that you be careful if your looking at a P5K-E based board not to fall into the nightmare I ran into with a ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP. Thought I got a steal deal and wound up with a flippin nightmare because I bought 1066 ram which this board and it's BIOS does NOT natively...

    ASUS P5K-E/WiFi-AP can't handle 1066 RAM

I have manually set the voltages for the ram which was 2.2v as well as the timings. Since I am not overclocking and using only one 8800GTX the 650W Antec should handle the power. Please school me if you have info I am all ears. For the one who has 1066 ram running on a P5K-E, which proc are...

    Asus P5K-E Wifi won't post

There are a couple different tricks mentioned on the ASUS forums I found while looking at a different issue. Dig under all P5K boards not just your model and you should find a few replies that could help. Other then that all I can say is good luck as I have a P5K-E/WiFi-AP that won't run the...

    ASUS P5K-E/WiFi-AP can't handle 1066 RAM

I have been posting like mad over on the ASUS forum ever since I discovered this is a known issue. The numorous threads I have dug up and been posting on are located below. What I am looking to know is has anyone on here who has this mobo specificly been able to get it to run correctly with...

PK5-E and vista, anyone had any luck?

I'm at my wits end with this machine. Did enough searching to realize everyone says the ICH9R chipset and Vista for raid is a no go presently until Intel pulls their head out and gives us new drivers. Then I tried a straight up with the two drives in IDE mode and still Vista had some sort of...

    Question for the pros

Actually I did not plan on OCing as this machine is for someone else and I just want it bulletproof. As I understand the info I have been given I am either going to have to push the ram above it's rated 1066 (or 533 FSB) to 1333 (667 FSB) to match the processor, or run the proc at 2.4. Main...

    Question for the pros

Can I run my proc at a different speed then my ram these days? The mobo supports 1066/1333 for procs but only 1066 for ram, the proc is a 1333 and the ram is 1066. Am I going to have to downclock my proc to ram speeds or OC the ram to proc speeds to make this work? I'd like to run each at...

FSB concern, question for the pros

Can I run my proc at a different speed then my ram these days? Natural deduction leads me to believe this is a none issue but I figured I would ask those who will be more then happy to school my butt if needed ;) The combo I'm putting together all from Newegg: ASUS P5K-E/WIFI-AP LGA 775...

    Network speed, need MORE

Thanks for the very informative post sir. In the end whatever was the real issue will haunt me but the work is done none the less. As you suggested I just set her to cook overnight and forgot about it, 3-4 hours later it was done. My biggest issue by far turned out to be an issue with the...
