Yeah it's a combination of the mainstream adopting streaming and also shopping in person isn't really necessary anymore.
I order all my physical media (4k bluray) from online vendors why waste time and gas going to the store
I hope it's true that Sony is working to produce something special with LCD again! I think the last time they really *tried* was on the venerable Z9D. Backlight master drive was a real thing but Sony quietly shelved it to save money when they shifted focus to OLED. The term was still...
Tried it for about 6 months but didn't have a good experience. Weird hitches and lags. My SSD was also declining in performance at the time so that didn't help.
Ended up going back to Win 10 LTSC and replaced the ssd with optane. Smooth sailing ever since
I like OLED for the home theater scenario it's unbeatable for that job...dark room, non static and varied content.
For a gaming/PC use I would get LED though. I'm just not willing to give up the freedom of having zero regard for what is on the screen and for how long. There's really...

here's where they stack up at 1440p. 1080 and 4k results are also there on different pages
I feel better with DIY builds I can tinker with. Easier to upgrade or replace faulty parts should it be necessary.
If your requirements aren't too heavy though then the prebuilt little appliances can make sense
Lian Li PC-65! That was the first case I actually thought looked good enough to bother with installing cold cathode lights ha.
Loved that brushed aluminum look. Coolermaster and Lian Li were battling for supremacy back then
I was fond of these too
Good stuff classy! I think the 83" C1 might be a winner if you have room for it.
On one hand I'm glad that Sony stepped up their game this year with things like the heatsink on the a90J, but I fear they might be overdoing it with all that processing. Some people might like that artificially...
They're legit. Not as fast as TN but a good compromise between speed and picture quality. I was not comfortable with 27" 1080p though.
24.5" 1080p IPS 240hz is coming soon

The ASUS TUF VG27AQ is better in just about every measurement. I have seen both displays and the difference in contrast is stark. Don't buy the Asus if you plan on using 60hz...
You'll want something that is semi-glossy. There's also some "low haze" monitors (HP?) that are like 2-3% haze rating from 3M.
Antiglare coatings have always distorted screen clarity, but fortunately they're not AS bad as they were 10 years ago. My god the sparkle and "dirty" whites used to...
I think it depends how far your eyes are from the display. If you like 1080@27" you might be ok with 1440@32 or so.
1440p @ 27" is a sweet spot for me. 24" was too small.
Really enjoying the Apple TV 4k with infuse pro6. I use Plex on the back end.
I don't have any other Apple products so ...wouldn't say I'm part of any ecosystem.
Don't plan on buying much from their store either.
The clean interface, dolbyvision support, nice remote, and gigabit ethernet are...
Check out HDTVTest channel on YT for video reviews. Rtings is good for comparisons and measurements.
Unless it's going in a super bright room or you can't trust kids/wife to not abuse the TV then I'd go OLED.
Sony has more accurate colors and the processor is generally regarded as the best...
Nice thread dude. I love when people document and review their purchases.
My only suggestion would be to put the model # in the topic somewhere if you can.
