The Silverstone ML03 meets the size requirements:

But the only way you'd fit a 120mm fan is to cut one into the top yourself.
Its a pity that the ML03 front panel is a bit cheap looking. Its the perfect size for a hifi component.
The other good thing about the SoR realm transfer is your friend can make a new level 1 on the realm+faction of your choice and send the invite from there. Then you can also create a new toon as soon as you accept the SoR, but before you apply the bonus. So you can get a level 80 toon of any...
Has anyone had experience with using a latop dvd drive (eg Sony AD7710H01) in a small form factor case? I'm planning to mod a small case (either matx or itx) without sacrificing airflow too much. Using a laptop optical drive is one space saving move. Another is to reduce the size of the PSU (eg...
The ST45SF is a great psu for SFF cases like an SG03. However are Silverstone or others planning to make similar SFX supplies in larger capacities? eg 750W
I like the idea of modding a PSU and cramming it into the space at the top behind the cdrom. That way the volume over the CPU is clear. You can then mount a tower cpu cooler and a 120mm rear exhaust fan
The reviews ive seen put the 1GB 460 within 10% of the performance of a 5850. So its a contender. However, where i live the intro price for the new nVidia card is within 10% of what a 5850 goes for. So unless the price falls, the 5850 is a little more attractive.
It seems most PC internal optical drives are still around the 148Wx42Hx170D dimensions that they have been for years. Is there a smaller alternative available? A laptop-size drive with SATA connectors would be ideal.
Would there be enough room in the roof of the SG03 to cut a 120mm hole and mount the H50 there?
The two front fans would be intake and the H50 would exhaust out the top.
I'm looking at putting an SG03 system together very similar to that in the OP.
I'd like to relocate the PSU so that its in the roof of the SG03. That would allow a tall cpu cooler to be used. Plus i can put a 120mm exhaust fan in place of where the PSU normally goes.
The hard part, of course, is...
I wonder if you could mod+cram an ST45SF into the roofspace of a Silverstone SG03? That would let the cpu breath much better and allow for tall coolers and a big rear exhaust fan!
I really like the SG03. But the position of the PSU concerns me. Not only does it limit the height of the cooler you can use, it precludes exhausting cpu air out the back of the case.
I'm wondering whether heavily modding the PSU would help. In many supplies, the bulk of the internal volume...
Locally the 5850 costs literally twice as much as a 4890 (eg $380 vs $190) and are hard to find in stock. Stock levels and prices will continue to be problematic for many weeks yet due to yields and demand. Plus every second person complains about 5850/5870 driver issues.
Is there a definitive list of AM2+ boards that support ACC for unlocking Phenom II cores?
Ive read that AMDs sb710 and sb750 chipsets support it. What about nVidia?
I just replaced an x2 4400+ with a Phenom II 550. The dual core optimizer ran fine on the old cpu. But the new one would crash boot as soon as the optimiser loaded. Deleted this software and all is good again.
There is, apparently, an undocumented driver needed to get powerdvd to read BD from this player. Ive only managed to get it to work after installing every (crappy) utility which comes on the drive's software CD.
There are many inexpensive boards now claiming to have good mpeg2/4 acceleration onboard. Which is the best in terms of video and audio output quality?
A number of manufacturers now do 780G and nv8200 boards intended for HTPC use. The boards vary in terms of stability, features, and (most importantly) sound quality. Which board is best?
I try not to cold boot my system as, often, it wont restart. It just sits there with the green light on and nothing else. If i completely remove power a couple of times it will usually start. When its running, all is good.
There are a few boards coming out using the new 780g chipset (eg JW-RS780UVD-AM2+). Early reviews are very positive - especially for HTPC use. Has anyone tried them yet?
Ive read a couple of guides that say this drive will automatically find its drivers under XP. This hasnt been my experience. When my PC searches, it comes back saying driver not found. Does anyone know where i can download the hddvd driver (not the udf 2.5 driver)?
Allsops vdroop mod worked well. Im now stable at 4GHz. But it makes me wonder, if making a system not droop is as simple as adjusting the value of one resistor, why doesnt Asus do that? It worries me to think what i might be potentially harming through this mod.
