2 ps3 systems in the same room

Okay, so the Blu ray drive on my super slim has gone out, but I have my other fat one that I plan to bring down and hook up.
Since my kids may have contributed to this problem, I am placing the fat one behind a locked door on my TV stand.

This would allow me to have PS+ games from both consoles available. All I need to do is transfer some vame saves.
The one thing I'm unsure of is if the consoles will run into issues talking with their respective consoles. Will super slim ccontroller be bound to said console as long as I don' plug it in to the fat unit for charging?

Correct. I have two PS3s together and the controllers stay bound to whatever was used for the last charge
