2nd Gen. Haswells in Z87 Boards (ASRock Z87E-ITX)?

Anyone know when ASRock added support for 2nd gen. Haswells in their UEFI? I got a reply today from Eric at ASRock saying that the Z87E-ITX will work with the I7-4790.

Don't know if I believe him since the last UEFI update for the Z87E-ITX was released December 2013, well before these 2nd gen. Haswells were released.

According to CPU support list it was version 2.30.

Board manufacturers will have had samples of the haswell refresh chips for quite a while now so that they can update the UEFI to support them.

So does this include the 4970 K? I have the same board.

By the looks of it, the 4790k and 4690k (devil's canyon) will only be officially supported on z97 boards but some board manufacturers may allow unofficial support. We probably won't know for a few weeks yet.
