Hello,

I'm after some educational and helpful advice on a proper liquid cooling setup.

I'm currently using a Corsair H50 and i feel that its not doing enough for me. I hate temperatures over 55*c on my CPU and I really would like to go much higher on the overclock, along with my GPU (Stock fan cooler)

Now im after some information on what I should probably choose for a radiator, pump, tubing and a waterblock. Iv'e already ordered a Swiftech Hi-Flo Acrylic Reservior Rev-2 because I originally wanted to 'Mod' my H50.

I have very little idea on what hardware i need to pick for some decent temperature results. But i have a fairly decent idea on installation.

My case dosent have the best room for a triple-sized radiator + pump. [Fractal Design Define R2], so I saw a MCR220 heat drive exchanger going for a decent price [Intergrated Pump - MCP350, Intergrated Resovior and 2x 120mm fan slots/size]

Or should I go for a complete WC system - Radiator, Pump, Waterblock, Resovior.

This will be the first ive installed a main-proper WC system (H50/H70 is way to simple for my likings.. and isn't changable like a proper WC system).

I can probably run a triple sized radiator on the top of my case wich is fine (MCR320 Heat Drive Exchanger is also available for this size), because i would like to setup CPU, Mobo (if its still efficent enough) and GPU.

Eventually once i get the hang of WC and setting up nicely i will end up going all out and having all bits in the case. But if this MCR220/MCR320 heat drive exchanger isn't exactly a improvement then i will go all out on seperate items.

And im after any other advice that i should be aware of from setting up my first WC setup.

Thanks

looking at your case, you wont have room for a 240 (120.2) radiator on top, unless you house it outside or half in and half out. figure you need a good 60-100 mm up top for the thickness of a radiator and fans (completely mounted inside) thats a good... oh hell, wheres my ruler... 4 inches. your best bet would be to look at the external koolance shroud to maintain looks:

with that thing, i think you could mount the fans outside the case and the radiator inside. the space would still be questionable.

your other option- that i can think of- would be a completely external setup. you can hang the rad off the back of the computer or set it on top. or you could get something like

or

but those are expensive. the second one is sweet though, and it looks good next to a computer.
