This is brand new board. Everything works fine except that the EL/backplate LED does not light up blue. I've plugged the connector into the EL_CON connector on the board, and I made sure that the LED was enabled in the bios. Still nothing.

Any ideas what I'm missing or is this prone to happen?

Some say it's prone to failure. Also check your BIOS to enable it.

Mine is spotty. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't: right now it's working. Kinda annoying for such an expensive board, but it isn't worth the trouble to me to get it replaced.

Some tend to bend the pins, since it is so small of a connector. And is cramped in the corner of the board. You have to make sure you plug it in before the heatsink.

The wire is really too tiny and brittle in my opinion. Should have be a bit bigger. Also like the other poster said all the lights can be controlled in the bios except the sound card "Supreme FX- X-FI" light on top of it. I have no idea why they skipped on that option though.
