Just wondering, cause I picked up a GTX - ATi uses a separate Avivo package to render dvd's and video better, does nVidia use anything like that or is it all in the same driver package?

Thanks!:)

Pure Video and Pure Video HD?

I believe you need to purchase them for $20 though

I have nvidia 7600gt and 8800gtx cards, and always wondered about this.

I can currently view videos and dvds no problem.

Is there any advantage of buying PureVideo software over just the codecs that I have right now?

Me too, i dont really see that its bad, or needs improvement:confused:

hmmm.......i'll check it out :)

EDIT: yeah, 20 to 50 bucks :(

I thought you got purevideo for free with the new low 8 series cards?

Hmm...i never even looked at the driver disk:eek:
Is it on there? i'll look when I get home:cool:

You said low series cards? This is a GTX, if it's the low series, I don't think it'll be on the disk.

Low as in 8600 or under, as they are the cards that support HTPC stuff and offer the video decoding.
