Before I turn this into a rant, my biggest beef with ATX cases is the sheer number of hard drive cages that extend the case some 10 miles. mATX cases are getting a bit too cramped for me to work in, even though I <3 their size.

Is anyone aware of a small sized ATX case with minimal space wasted and with only a limited # of HD cages? Like... 2x3.5" and 1x/2x5.25"? I only have 1 drive in my V350...

I'm not sure it gets much love, but the Cooler Master Elite 360 only has 2 3.5" (1 exposed) and 2 5.25" bays. It's too slim for tall CPU heatsinks though.

Silverstone TJ-08 should suit your needs... I've got two of em.
But the Lian-li A05 is a good choice too!

nzxt m59 is a small mid-tower with not much wasted space at all...though it doesnt touch your requirement of only a few hard drive/optical drive bays...

plus, its cheap. i recently got one off the egg for $40 after $20 mir.

That case looks like a piece of the "Aggrocrag" from Nickelodeon GUTS.

I say either get the LL A05-NB or an Antec Solo.

GMC cases are incredibly small because they only have vertical mounted HDD bays (2) and the optical drive is vertically mounted too. So basically the case is the size of the motherboard only plus a few inches.

Very cheap also. I built one for a friend. This thing is literally almost 2/3 the length of my Lian Li A05N, it's so much smaller it was sick! Got it for $40 on sale. Heck, it's lighter than my A05N and my A05N is aluminum. This thing is steel but it's so much smaller that it's light as heck! Fit a full 9800GTX as well. Make sure the videocard power connectors are on the side though! The picture doesn't show it but the side panel can take a fan as well and it comes with an air funnel. Also, there is another spot for a fan on the bottom of the case to bring cool air to the videocard.

Fits a 5850 easily and may fit a 5870, not sure on the length of a 5870 though. I have been thinking of picking another one up for my main computer since they are so cool and small. Last one was for my Brothers HTPC.
