Backlight leakage more apparent after a few hours of use?

Should backlight leakage become more apparent the longer the LCD has been running? I noticed on my LCD that there was no backlight leakage when first turned on and was pitch black. After about 4 hours of use I turned the lights off and noticed that the screen seemed a little brighter. The leakage seemed to be even throughout. I was thinking it might be heat that the LCD is giving off. Any opinions?

Yeah, I've noticed this a little bit although I noticed a major change after a few days of regular use more than just a few consecutive hours.

I've got the Sony HS94P and out of the box it had no backlight bleeding at all. After about a week - it starts to creep in. I RMA'd it...and my newer one was the same way, although to a lesser extent.

Strange. When new, mine had minor bleeding in the top right corner, but after a couple weeks of use, the bleeding virtually went away. It's the same when cold or after it has been on for a while. I love when things just fix themselves!
