I need a card that's under $90. It's for a friend of mine.
His computer is a 2.0ghz p4, with like 256mb and stuff. It's got AGP.

I was looking at 9600s, it doesn't matter if it's ati or nvidia. He just wants something better than his geforce 2.

yA. Just save u like, I dunno, a few more buckses

like, at least $120 or somethang........

Edit: You yourself shoudl also pick up some ram, that 512mb must be killing you, with your Video card.

I hardly game. I think I may just sell the video card or the whole computer.

How's a ati 9550 with 128 bit; of course.

I'm guessing that your friend doesn't do much with his system, since he only has 256mb of RAM. Just get a Radeon 9000/9200 or something along those lines. Personally, I would upgrade the RAM first and worry about the video card later.

Buy a used 4600 or 9500Pro. Also, get an extra 256mb ram.

Ditto. I had a 4600Ti on my old 1.8ghz P4 and then on my 2.8

Great card for the money and played Counterstrike Source and halflife 2 just great for me.

Actually now that I think of it, a 9100 would be a nice card If he doesn't game much. I upgraded from that to my 4600 and didn't notice a bug difference. It is 128 bit, 250/500, 64mb DDR. It played CSS on medium at about 45 fps on my Athlon 1800. You can get them cheaper too. I can sell you mine if you want, check your pms.

ive got a 9700 pro for sale, with a giant 3 HSF.. but not for $90.. looking for $120..

He's buying the card so he can play games. He's going with the 9550 cause it's in his price range of 60.

If that's the case, then he'll definately need more RAM. But, I don't know what games he wants to play, or what video card he has now.

Make sure he gets one of the 9550's with a 128-Bit memory interface please. Also like others said, tell him to use rest to get ram :p.
