I'm using an HTPC to drive a CRT HDTV and some logitech z-540's right now. I'm finally ready to upgrade to some nicer speakers.

I don't need wall pounding volume or boom boom bass. I'd much rather have crisp highs and clean midtones at reasonable volumes.

Digital vs analog isn't that important to me as I can handle either on the computer. I will be getting two of these for two separate setups, so I want to keep the price of each set under $350-400. Any recommendations?

DO you need receivers plus speakers/subwoofer or just the speaker/subwoofer?

I have no means for amplification at this point. Therefore I assume I would need amped speakers or a receiver (which I don't think I really want to mess with)

Right now I'm thinking of the Klipsch PMU's.
