maybe we should switch to PPD, because I'd hate to see half a folder in real life
lol he said 200 folders adding 10k extra PPD.. well im only adding 5000 PPD.. so that would only make me count as half of the needed amount..
I hate thses threads, they make me do things. I just pulled the trigger on a GTX260 so that should be good for 7k, I won't add my number in yet because I'm thinking of adding a 9800GS0 before you all cut me off at the knees.
I'm fortunate that's not one thing I have to contend with.I might be struggling to keep my current production because a new SO got my balls

Do we need to pull your man card!!!!I might be struggling to keep my current production because a new SO got my balls
Don't worry... I might have some ideas up my sleeve
Will be adding 4 GTS250's next week, will add that when I get them up and running.
Hmm what is this chimp challenge and is it entertaining? I'm equal to about 3.2 folders more when I get the VMware nodes running mwhaha.
It's practically guaranteed that will be jacked up. It's a good thing these huge folders came around weeks before the competition started. Imagine if they began to fold near the start of the CC. It would be over in a blink of an eye with last year's goal, LOL.better not be 5mil, 3 teams could hit that in under a day now....
it'll need to be 50 to get 2 weeks
looking into getting another mobo and a 9800 GX2 (im so broke lol) and switching things around a bit. If I can do all that, I'd be able to add another 15k easy if I can group units with like shaders
I know but don't assume everyone will switch over... A actual estimation is 1/3-1/2 of the active folders switch for the challenge which bring us to 1 million - 1,5 million. Last year, we peaked at about 550k ppd even if the team production is over 1,5 millions ppd.
I'm going to get into so much trouble.
been a long time for me, 8800gts (old one) and a core2duo @ 2.4
never used the GPU client before but it seems to take a good amount of CPU power so I only installed a single core for the the other half of the cpu, is this still efficient?
