lately when i try to play medieval 2 or company of heroes im getting these crackling sounds that i have never heard of before until last week. Its been getting on my nerves and i was seeing if you guys had a fix for this and i found that the creative forums are totally useless in this aspect since they just blatantly ignore the customers wish for a driver fix.

How long did it take for the issue to crop up? Did you have any problems beforehand? I just bought mine a couple days ago and it's worked fine in a few games and with music/movies. I'm extremely wary though..

Try this, it worked for me. Go to the Creative console in control panel. One of the tabs will say "defaults" on it. Click on it and click on the "restore defaults" button. Then go back and see if it makes a difference. Even though i have never changed any settings somehow this fixes it. Give it a try.

If you can, send the card back, if you've already had it too long please get it on EBay:)

try changing the slot it is in.

It may have an IRQ issue. That was my problem.

We would like to send you the things you shold check to resolve this
issue:

1. Remove all unnecessary hardware to free up resources.
2. Disable all unused on-board devices (e.g. onboard sound, serial
ports).
3. System Performance: Try a more moderate setting if your system is
set
up for maximum performance. (possible settings: Turbo, Optimal, Normal,
etc.)
4. VGA Shared Memory Size: Try increasing this if you have an onboard
graphics card.
5. AGP Aperture Size (MB): Set this to half the system's RAM or lower.
6. Peer Concurrency: Toggle this setting.
7. PCI 2.1 Support: PCI 2.1 must be enabled.
8. Spread Spectrum Control: Toggle this setting.
9. PCI Latency Timer: Try different values, starting with 32.
10. Memory Hole: Toggle this setting.
11. AGP Fast Writes: Enable this setting if your graphics card supports
it.
12. PNP(Plug and Play) Aware OS: Try setting this to No.
13. Update the BIOS of your system, if none of the above steps solve
the
problem.
14. Try lowering the Hardware Acceleration of the Graphics Card:
