CS:S feels choppy..help!

Something feels wierd about this game. Most FPS i play feel very smooth when you move the mouse, but this feels like its struggling to keep up. I enabled mouse filtering but it doesnt help. I also tried cl_smooth 0, still doesnt work. Is this just how the game is?

type "cl_showfps 1" in console and tell us what yout FPS is
it should show up in the top right

I'm getting over 80 UT2k4 runs perfectly fine, this game is strugglin' when i move or even walk. Feels like lag, but it even happens in no lag servers.

any difference when you start a local server and run around? try going into office and blowing stuff up with grenades. Max FPS is not important min FPS is what you should be looking for.

You might want to try adjusting your cpu priority, try lowering HL2.exe in your task manager.

It could be the server. Try hosting a local game and see what happens.
