Well since tedkj is taking a beating due to a big client going bankrupt...
We, as his team mates need to step up to the plate.

So I bought another q6600 system with an 8800GT, in honor of our team mate tedkj.
What are the rest of you going to do? :)

Well I might move two 9800 gtx's out of my main box and replace them with a pair of 4850 or 4870's. The box does have crossfire support and I do use it as my main gaming rig. Wouldn't get too much of a ppd bump since the ati client still isn't very efficient yet apparently.

I'm thinking of switching my main system to mATX if and when the new DFI P45 mATX board comes out. That should be any day now, and when I do I'll add another Q6600 and either an 8800GS or GT depending on how the sales north of the border go this week.

Two 8800's minimum later this month.

I think I'm finally getting my multi GPU system online.

My K9A2 Plat can only run 5 GPU cores.
I think its the bios limit, as beyond 5 GPU cores I cannot get the vidio card drivers to load for the new GPU cores.
So only running 1x 9800GTX & 2x 9800GX2's, not 4x 9800GX2's.

I'm on my 6th re-install of Windoze Vista on the box.
As it was easier to just reload Vista as opposed to trying to fix it when the install borked.
I hate working on Vista ........

Hopefully I've got the right drivers 177.35, and I can get all 5 clients running at the same time.
Then see how much of the CPU cores are left to run the SMP clients on, either naked or inside VM's.

Luck ............. :D

Just placed an order for another 8800GS from the deals thread from the Egg. Yay Friday!

Tiger have you tried the newer 177.79 drivers yet?

No need to reinstall vista, just do a restore and bingo it's fixed.

Also I might mention the console client for the gpus, totally stable, idiot proof and all that good stuff.;)

Bringing my 9800gx2 online tonight or tomorrow.

Debating about ordering another 8800gt

When I bork the install, I do a good job of it.
I either loose my vidio output or it wont boot into Windoze at all.
Hence the multiple reinstalls.

But I've got it running .............. :D
All cards running stock speed and 100% fans.

Client 1, Card 9800GTX, ~5,000 PpD, Temp ~65 C.
Client 2, Card 9800GX2, ~4,500 PpD, Temp ~77 C.
Client 3, Card 9800GX2, ~4,500 PpD, Temp ~77 C.
Client 4, Card 9800GX2, ~4,500 PpD, Temp ~77 C.
Client 5, Card 9800GX2, ~4,500 PpD, Temp ~77 C.

So ~23,000 PpD, 600 watts pulled from wall, 25% CPU load.
Just need to add a couple of VM clients to use up the remaining CPU cycles.

Now to put the other two 9800GX2's in another box for another +20,000 PpD Box.

Edit. The 177.79 drivers just ran 100% EUE's. Gone back to 177.35 as they work.
Luck ............. :D
