My cable ISP has throttled my connection to a less then dialup speed.
So, they kill me P2P, but they also throttle me if I use iTunes music store.

Can anyone suggest anything? I hear alot of talk about VPN such as securix.

Have you called them and asked if there was a way to use itunes without your connection being throttled?

Yah. even their teir 2 guy said Im SOL.
Be switching ISPs soon.

Are you sure it's them throttling? How have you determined this?

That'd be the first step. Next would be to call your ISP and demand a refund.

yah. I talked to them, and they confirmed that they throttle all P2P and under their EULA, they can shape their network to whatever they want. So Im SOL with Rogers...even their teir 2 tech guy said I was SOL. They even throttle VOIP ports.

I would suggest changing ISPs, just make sure to do research first.

I've read articles in the past about Roger's draconian throttling ,etc. IMO this will hurt them in the long run as they alienate their users.

Its just a desperate attempt by a company to hang on to what little territory they have left, etc. Unfortunately people maybe only in an area that can get Roger's so they are stuck.
