Dell has a 24" U2410 for $599
Dell has a 24" P2411h for $299

Why the huge discrepency in the price?
What does the U2410 do that th P2411h doesn't?
Is it the panels in them?
If the P2411h is so crappy why make it?

The price reflects the difference in panel performance. Not all companies can justify equipping an office completely with U2410s, so lesser models are offered.

U2410 is a 1920x1200 24" IPS panel
U2411H is a 1920x1080 24" TN panel

For general office use, most places don't need IPS panels.

Dell Canada has the U2410 on sale today for $429, one day only. So for those who are blessed to live in the greatest Country on earth, its a good deal.

It's all about choice. Not everybody can afford, or even want to buy, a more expensive IPS monitor. Or others might not actually need one, and for their purposes a cheaper TN panel is a better choice. I don't have any experience with the P2411H, but I wouldn't say it's crappy, simply because it's cheaper and has a different panel then the more expensive UltraSharp. It's probably just better suited for different applications.

I personally do find a noticeable difference between (modern) TN and IPS panels, even under general/office use. I would still say that, IPS is superior as an all rounder... glare type of the panel (glossy/AG) is a different matter and is subjective however. As is the purpose of competitive gaming.

The Dell U2311H still seems to be the sweet spot, at least in my book.

Hey look, two cars made by Ford with huge price discrepancy
- Ford Focus for $18K
- Ford Mustang Shelby for $45K

Both cars can go from point A to point B, right?
