Were you displaying the Color HCFR window greyscale patterns while you did that? If so, that's correct. Your green is way too high. Here's how to calibrate better:
Set all colors back to 100. Throw on an IRE 70 pattern and click the little green "play" button in Color HCFR. On the left side of the screen you will see your measures for the three colors in real time. You want each channel to be at 100% or as close as possible (between 99-101%). Start by reducing the highest channel one click by one click until it's around with 100. Then play around with the others to get them balanced. Note that if you bring down all three channels, you're lowering contrast overall - so try to adjust just two of them. Also note that the colors are all relative to each other - so bringing down red should raise blue and green.
Once you get 70% dialed in, check it against the 30% pattern. Hopefully it's still close. If not, mess around until you get it close at both of them. High end TV's have separate low and high controls which make things easier; these displays only have the three general RGB controls so it won't be 100% perfect. But on the flip side, these dsiplays generally track flatter than most TVs so separate high/low controls aren't necessarily needed. As my graph shows, to the naked eye my display is dead accurate.
Think is, ive been asking this whole time how to bring up IRE patterns and nobody is telling me. They just say the patterns are in there. Ive checked everywhere, there is no specific IRE 70 pattern, or none I can find. All I could find was going Measures> Greyscale, then it runs through IRE 0-100 automatically and gives me the results after.
__________________Here's the patterns I use, specifically I download the mp4 one for my computer and then use the Color HCFR Window greyscale patterns. There's 10 of them, and they correspond to IRE 10, IRE 20, etc.

What is the minimum Height of the Dell U2412M with stand, measuring from the base to the top of the display when it's fully compressed (all the way down)? Can you guys please measure it? thanks.

[edit] In paint and zoomed, the monitor on the left is more vibrant. I'm assuming that's the NEC.
[edit 2] Given a budget of $500 (shipped), is there anything that would blow the U2412M away? I'd be using it for gaming nearly all of the time and it would be an upgrade from a Dell2405FPW--which was a bargain at $900 when I bought it.
It will be interesting to see a comparison once you have a colorimeter calibration on both. I'm guessing the blue/green I'm noticing on the photos of the Dell will decrease with calibration and look a little warmer like the NEC.
I've had 5 of these U2412M's and none of them calibrated using the same RGB values. On my left monitor, I'm using 99 88 94 @ 31 brightness and the right 100 98 95 @ 27 brightness calibrated with the xrite i1Display Pro.
so i try an other setup
1st dvi goes hdmi => led40"
2nd dvi goes straight to U2412M without adaptors
now i can see led but U2412M has no signal
it seems that my gfx card cannot see both digital cables and one of them has to be vga
Good thing I ran across this thread; else I would have chosen the U2312HM (cuz of tft's .6ms input lag), but now I know.
I hope to purchase this monitor along with my rig parts this friday.
