Regarding the Gigabyte DS3 motherboard
When an IDE optical drive is connected, DOS does not see the optical drive unless the files from gs_cdrom-update
is added to the boot disk.
If the program gs_cdrom-update is NOT installed, and I boot up with a Win98SE boot disk
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q1: will DOS see the SATA hard drives connected to the Orange Ports?
Q2: will DOS see the SATA Optical drive ( eg. liteon 16A7S) connected to the Orange Port?
Q3: will DOS see the SATA hard drives connected to the Purple Ports?
Q4: will DOS see the SATA Optical drive ( eg. liteon 16A7S) connected to the Purple Port?
I'm interested to know if it would be worth it to spend a bit more on the SATA optical drive to get full functionality by just booting up
with the Win98SE standard boot disk. I don't want to overwrite those original files with the gs_cdrom-update files.
I need DOS to retrieve ghost images from the SATA optical drive.
