If I get an 8800GTS now and in three months the prices for the GTX come down can I swap my GTS for the new GTX just by paying the difference? Is this how that works?

Say I buy the GTS now for $400 and in three months the GTX is $500, I can upgrade to the GTX for only $100?

That WOULD work...that is, if eVGA actually allowed the market to determine its prices in the upgrade program. Instead, they stick with the MSRP of the product from when it launched, generally throughout the entire lifetime of the product.

Additionally, eVGA uses your retail purchase price as your trade-in value, not the MSRP of your card. This means that if you wanted to "step-up" to the exact same card you have right now, you'd probably owe eVGA.

I bought my 8800GTS on launch day and just processed a step-up for at 8800GTX- it's costing me $120.00. I initially was going to go with 2 8800GTS' in SLI but decided not to and just step up to a GTX.
