Facebook Reports 138% Surge In Profits

I think a 138% surge in profits should make Facebook investors happy.

Revenue from advertising, which makes up most of Facebook's income, was $2.68bn, up 67% compared with the second quarter of 2013. Adverts on mobile devices now account for 62% of advertising revenue, which is a spectacular rise as mobile ads accounted for almost nothing in 2012.

This proves once again that people will put-up with hideous amounts of advertising, so long as you ease them into it :(

There were ZERO mobile ads in 2012 in order to not anger new users and annoy them enough to leave. But now the platform is mature, and the lazy ones will stick around through anything in order to read the latest gossip all day and play network-attached games.

You can ease someone into prison style sex, too, and they'll put up with it.

One ad... Fine... a while later, two ads.. Eventually, there are 6 ads, an inline ad or 6, a video ad... And you don't mind because they've "always been there", but you don't notice them increasing as much.

I've been using Facebook less and less lately. I'll post some BS stuff, and reply to others. But, mostly, it's for messaging old friends and seeing what they are up to.
 
At which point will it reach the "Idiocracy" level of saturation?

Not even close. :rolleyes: Hey look, someone who perhaps hates the Xbox one? All those things are not adds, they are games, links to games or things about the system / games. Oh well, I guess you were expecting me not to pay attention?

Yea, pretty much. No apps, games, forwards, stupid stuff. Just the simple stuff. Could use anything, but since most of them use Facebook, it works.

Oh right, aren't you that guy that love talking with his Xbox one so much? Such a busy person that he must use voice command as you're leaving the house? How technologically advanced, you must be. Glad you can pay some attention to my posts and not pay escorts all the time. :rolleyes:

I guess your short attention to detail (among other things) couldn't see that that was an Xbox 360 screen that's advertising their own games and product lines with other associated companies before the Xbox One.

I realized what system it was after I posted but did not post about, I was incorrect, sue me. :D However, even the 360 does not come close to what that movie portrays. However, I have a 360, a One, a Gaming PC, and the OG Xbox as well. (Unless you were trying to be funny earlier which did not come across the internet very well.)
