My second was a Geforce 4 MX, not realizing it was practically the same card.
My third was the infamous Geforce FX 5600 (yes, that one), which I paid good money for.
My fourth one was an unbranded 8800GT from Galaxy, which came in a white box as they didn't have time to print the packaging due to high demand. I bought it relatively fast after the release, as part of the first "proper" gaming PC I built for myself. It lasted me three years and would have lasted me more if the temperature sensor hadn't gone haywire, making proper fan control impossible.
It was the first card I was truly satisfied with, where I could play the latest games at high or near-max settings. Galaxy may not be a brand many people are familiar with but they get kudos in my books. I was forced to finally replace the aging dual core Pentium cpu with DDR2 memory and P35 motherboard about a month ago, due to failing components.
What would be sweeter for a new 2500k build than a shiny new GPU?
Because I want to see what these GeForce GTX 500's are all about, coming from a Radeon owner. Who knows, I might be convinced to buy another matching one for SLI.
Well since wit hasn't scored me anything in recent drawings, I say bugger it then and gimme. Just gimme. Why do I want it? Because you are giving it away, so just gimme it.
I want to win this card because my current Radeon 6950's are driving me crazy with driver issues and incompatibilities with new games, but Christmas shopping has made a switch back to Nvidia impossible for a few months :|
My XFX Radeon HD 4770 idles at 63°C. I have also never purchased a video card new, I've always had hand-me-downs or bought used. I'm a poor college student.
I don't need it but I want it for the sake of winning something for once.
I still have a 7800 GTX and a 280 GTX for other computers but this one could be a start in building my new system. I haven't upgraded or bought anything computer related in 3-4 years.
