Frequent GPU errors in Win 7

I am running Win 7 64-bit on several systems with GPU2 clients. The one thing they have in common that I never see in Win XP is a GPU error that makes itself evident very frequently. The error line is:

Could not open/read logfile=<work/wudata_08.log>; Cosm status=-1

Anyone ever see this message before? It occurs so often that I have become accustomed to ignore it, but noticing that my apparent production does not seem to correspond with what is reported in the stats, I'm wondering if this error is more serious than I had previously thought. My WUs complete and upload successfully. This error surfaces after the 100% and "successful run" lines, which is the reason I had ignored it.

If anyone knows or has an idea what this error might be, I'd really like to hear it. I could post the portion of the log that leads up to this error if need be, but there doesn't appear anything out of the ordinary except for that error line.

Is the app directory under one of the Program or System folders? I've heard that can cause trouble because Windows doesn't like those being futzed with unless it realizes you're installing something.

I have mine installed in C:\[f@h folder name]....maybe that's an idea if yours could be in one of the "protected" folders.

im guessing you are using the console version? if so make sure its in your root folder (C:\) otherwise you have to set it to run in admin mode.. not totally sure if thats that exact reason since UAC is the second thing i turn off after installing windows 7..

I'm using the console version and the clients are installed in their own folder in the root directory.

try running them in admin mode and see if that fixes it.. ive never used the console client so i have no clue other then that.. have always used the system tray client..

I tried running the clients as administrator and there is no change.

only other thing i can think of is delete everything and reinstall the client.. or try deleting your work folder and config file..

My Win7 64 box does this as well from time to time but all the WU upload ok and the points seam to be correct so I do not know whats going on with the log file.

Some WU do it and some don't it's not just one series.
Here are exerpts from 3 WU, one read the log file, one poped the error and one did not read the log file but did not pop the error.
All uploaded ok.

I do not worry about it because I have not had any EEU in a long time.
The card is a 9800 GTX+ with the latest drivers.

do you guys have your clients setup to accept WU's larger then 10mb?(required for GPU2 but not needed for gpu3) if not you might want to set it to accept them..might be whats causing the problem but its just a guess..
