So I am going from an 8800gt (wonder what i can do with it) to a 6950 2gb card :) Question is....... I remember when I went from my 1800xt to my sli set up, I had to uninstall the drivers and then look for some driver cleaning program. Is that still the issue to this day and if so, which tool is the new tool to use to completely clean the drivers?

Thank you in advance :)

It's a bigger issue going from NVIDIA -> AMD, but it's good practice to use a program like Driver Sweeper to clean out your system of any/all NVIDIA and AMD drivers before installing a new card. Make sure you boot into Safe Mode to do it .

I usually manually uninstall drivers and clean out my registry myself.

I think current day and age you can just uninstall drivers and install other drivers and it should be fine.

Yes you absolutely should do a full driver clean. Ive had multiple problems with ATI drivers and not starting with a clean slate. Doing a full driver sweep usually does the trick.
