I've got a mild overclock of 3.6 and my ram (Mushkin Redline 12gb) seems to be tight together and not allowing proper cooling. What's the best fan cooler to get for 6 sticks of ram?

I wouldn't waste money on a "RAM cooler".

For warm/hot running RAM, an 80mm case fan that is blowing on the RAM from 2-3 inches away will cool the RAM just fine.

Antec Spot Cool is pretty good, but I would prefer passive cooling to any specific cooler. I have a 120mm case fan that blows over my RAM and keeps the sticks generally cool.

and looks like crap/getto too. polly use some ductape. :p. I always like the OCZ XTC Cooler. look nice and does the job

You can cover up the LED's if you want. This will cool better than any RAM fan as it will give you more coverage. I have no problems with my mounting. As an added benefit. My NB and SB, and a majority of the components surrounding my CPU socket are getting cooled by the same fan.

As I might agree that you get more coverage I would think it's less focus and not cool any one thing well (although well enough.) I can also say that my XTC cooler does cool sorunding parts and there is "extra" air that blows from out the sides/bottom and cools the sorunding parts. I think it's safe to say a real memory cooler potently will be better cooling memory then just a fan blowing on it (like your setup), as it tends to be more focused to do so, but I have nothing to back this up and you do not as well.

With this the real question is. Does memory coolers do a better job cooling memory then just a fan setup or better case air flow? what I pose is some testing to see if this can be found out.

Not really.. I made a bracket to mount the fan to...

Although I have made some really ghetto mods in the past, the more ghetto looking ones are usually just for testing/designing and I end up redoing them once I figure out what works good.

The RAM coolers will cool the RAM ok-ish, but from my brief experience with one a while back, a regular case fan keeps it just as cool if not cooler. This is probably due to the fact that more air gets blown over the area than with a ram cooler.

More case air flow will help as well, especially if a case has really poor airflow.

But, if you don't have the air specifically moving over the RAM, it is not going to cool it as well as it could.

The single most case temp lowering mod is to add a nice 120mm exhaust fan to the top of your case... especially if it doesn't already have a top exhaust fan.

Even changing from an 80mm to a 120mm top exhaust fan makes quite a difference.
