I have Suse 10 installed in a dual boot configuration on my work pc. I come in to work from the weekend to find my pc had been rebooted. Normally this is no big deal s I usually work in linux anyway. This time however I find a message saying that "The optimal resolution is..." displayed on the screen and nothing else.

For the life of me, I cannot remember what file it is I need to edit to get my KDE desktop back. I know, I'm having a major brain fart here. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I was looking for the file that holds the resolutions and refresh rates and what not so that I can just edit that. Anyone remember what file that is?

I've never used Yast->System Config from a command line, how would I do that? I'm still a linux newbie in so many ways it's pitiful.

Thanks

/etc/XF86Config or something like that. /etc/X11/XFConfig. I don't remember, it's been awhile.

edit: I'm almost sure it's in your /etc/X11 folder though. Just look for a config file.
