I am finalizing my build which i will be purchasing this week, i already have a dvd drive, hard drive, case, and monitor, the only thinks I am unsure about are the mobo and cpu. I mainly game and surf the web.

GIGABYTE GA-N650SLI-DS4 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
(or should i get this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128018 )

EVGA 256-P2-N624-AR GeForce 7900GS 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 KO

CORSAIR CMPSU-520HX ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 520W Power Supply -

Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 Conroe 2.13GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6420 -
(This or the e4300 or another one?)

G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 Dual Channel Kit (HZ)

Later i will be upgrading to the 8800GTS with the step up program once i have enough money.

Thank you guys:)

Looks pretty good, although for the midrange, probably the best video card to get is the ATI 1950XT 256 card from Saphire. The funny thing is you could spend like 50 bucks more for a 512 ver. or 60 bucks more for a 8800 GTS from PNY.

The G.Skill looks ok.

You have a lot of options for the processor, performance wise the 6320 and 6420 are pretty close for price/performance. You could get a AMD Athlon 64 4800+ Brisbane, or 4600+ Windsor and be in between the 6320 and 6420 performance wise. In most synthetic and in-game benchmarks I have seen, the amd processors in this range or almost spot on with the 6400 c2d; you can save a few bucks.

Good board, good psu.

It looks like a pretty solid setup. Since I have no idea what your budget is, I would probably go the intel c2d route, but with a P965 NB, unless you are hell bent on SLI.

I don't want to go the SLI route so u think the ds3 will probably be a better option? And for the processor i will probably go the e6420 route, my budget for just theses parts is around $750.

8800GTS 320's can be had for around $270 after a fairly small rebate (EVGA rebates are pretty quick, around 3-5 weeks). 640's for around $50 more than that. If you're planning to go that route at all it's a much better plan to save up a little more and buy it now, because with the step up program you're paying full MSRP. That means around $100 more for a 640MB. Simply not worth it.

Non-SLI 650i Ultra from EVGA -- $98 (http://www.clubit.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=A4856008&cmp=OTC-fr00g13)

8800GTS 320MB $260 after rebate ($285 before) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814122022)

Looks like the 640MBs have gone up some though. $360 or so seems to be the lowest they get at the moment.
Found a 640MB PNY 8800GTS at ZipZoomFly with free shipping. (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=322844&prodlist=pricegrabber)

I think the 6420 and the Gigabyte DS3 is a good and solid combination. There are similar boards out there for slightly less like 79 - 84 dollars on newegg, but I think the DS3 is a good investment for the extra 15 bucks.

All the other stuff you have should work with it. Again, your videocard, you have options on that. In a similar price range I would say 1900XT > 8600 GTS > 7900 GS. GTS and GS are about the same performance, but 8600 GTS has DX 10 support, and uses less power.

anymore suggestions before i order in about two hours? I am still gonna stick with the vid card just because i don't have the money yet, and don't play that many games. so it looks like i am gonna go with the ds3 and e6420
