Just need feedback on my situation.

Currently, I have a GeForce 7800GTX 256 and I wanted to get another one for SLI, however, I was also looking at getting an SAPPHIRE RADEON X1900XT
(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102003) to replace the 7800.

Will a second 7800 GTX in SLI out perform one X1900XT and allow me to have better performance with my Dell 2405FPW at native resolution (1920x1200). Or should I just pass down my 7800GTX to my kids and get the ATI?

Thanks!!!

Joe

It all depends on your situation, but I'd say if you're a hardcore gamer, the SLI will please you to no end. I game (Quake 3 & 4, Doom 3, UT2005) maybe two three times a week, so I've opted for the X1900XT, which hasn't come yet.
Here's a page of reviews. A quick look, and I saw 7800GTX 512 in SLI and single 7800GTX (256 & 512) against the X1900 series, but I didn't view a 256 7800GTX in SLI...then again, I didn't really look that hard.

WOW... Interesting. I checked out some of the major reviews especially on HarOCP and the ATI card looks to have lower performance than even the 256mb cards... I think I will keep my 7800 ;)

Thanks!!!

Joe
