I am wondering if such a product exists. I would like to stream video from my TV or Dish Satellite provider to my computer. High speed internet isn't available in my area and my computer is in another room. While I work on my computer, I would like to watch recorded shows or movies played from my Dish Satellite or straight from my TV. Is this possible?

Dish network hopper will let you watch live tv.

You can buy an hd pvr, but I couldn't get live streaming to ever work with one.

A Slingbox 350 could enable watching in another room, live. Has a real-time buffer of upto an hour for pausing, I think, but no DVR capability otherwise. Just less headache to setup and uses component instead of HDMI which bypasses DRM restrictions (HCDP) that could be on your Cable signals. You would need a different DVR solution. I think Dish offers a modified rebranded Slingbox, too.

Thanks for the suggestions. This gives me a starting place to work from.

Or get tuner card (to use as a video input) and connect an audio/video output from the SAT box to the input of the tuner card. The only problem would possibly be the remote range, Or you could simply add a second receiver/DVR for the PC.
