how do you output stereo media to more than just the front speakers on a 5.1 system?

I posted this message a couple days ago, but all the posts seemed from that time period seem to have disappeared, so I'll ask it again. I'm using a klipsch promedia ultra 5.1 system and the motherboard's built in ADI1988 chip. When I listen to CD's or any stereo media, only the front left and right speakers play sound. Is it possible to get a stereo source to output to all the speakers?

you have to get a pluggin for your audio player to have it mix the music to all 5.1

Your onboard will not have upmix capability which is what your looking for. I suggest getting a 5.1 plugin for your audio player as was suggested or getting a dedicated PCI soundcard that has upmix options.

Music is just 2 I think, no .1. What info is sent to your sub is determined by your processor, it isn't built into the music.
