Hey all,
I have bought the following parts for my upcoming gaming system, but due to a scam that robbed me out of a video card , and financial situation being tight, I can't complete it for at least another 6 months or so.

Question is will this rig be any good after this time? (of course the main concern is the CPU, MoBo,RAM and Video Card)

Here are my specs:

-DFI nF4 SLI-DR 'Expert'
-Opteron 146 (CABNE 0530 batch)
-Video Card (N/A)
-G.SKILL Extreme Series 2GB DDR1
-Thermalright XP-90C
-Delta 92x38mm FFB0912HHE 2-wire (Got the 3 Wire version!)
-Enermax 620W PSU 'Liberty'
-74GB WD Raptor Hdd (revision 00FLC0)
-Pioneer DVR-A09-XLB
-Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS
-Gaming Bomb II (Black Colored)

Your comments and insights are greatly apprecaited.

in 6 mos amd will be on to socket AM2 and intel will be on 45nm cpus... so no

a lot will change in 6 months... get a cheap video card now and use it till you can afford a better one..

it will be a good ocmputer in 6 months.. but not top of the line, and most of the parts will probably have dropped in price by then...

No it's not really "top" now, since you technically COULD build a better box. There will be better stuff in 6 months. And then in 6 more months. That's how it works.

But depending on what you use the box for and how demanding you are, that rig would probably serve you well for a year or two (from now). Though it's really impossible for anyone to predict now how games 6 months from now will run or what hardware they'll need.
