How the hell do I use console in Doom3!?

At first, I was surprised when pressing "~" didn't do anything. Then I looked at the keyboard reference and found no key for console either. Then I looked in the controls menu with similar luck. Nothing. Then I proceed to search through the DoomConfig.cfg file, and there's no string that has console in it either. WHAT THE FUCK.

4. Proceed to answer your own question faster and easier than using the forums

If my memory serves me well it's alt+ctrl+~ or you can add "com_allowconsole 1" to your config.

It is alt-ctrl-~ but it is annoying because control is fire so use the config fix so ` opens it. I tried it once on the demo and it didn't work.
