How to tell if your 226BW 2232BW has a Samsung panel w/out opening box!

According to lesnumeriques.com you are now able to determine if your 226bw or 2232bw has a Samsung panel based on the serial number (which is printed on the boxes label)! Here is the English translation on how to do so.

"-- A serial number greater than or equal to P718xxx (known exceptions: the P726 and P729 are not slabs Samsung)."

just to let you know this does work. I tested when I purchased a new 2232BW today at Best Buy. it's a lot easier if you go to a store where you can see the stock out on the floor, might be annoying to try and explain to someone why u want them to check the one's they have in the backroom.

ps 200 views and no comments. I'm surprised nobody else cares about this.

yeah it should be higher than that. check the hidden service menu to see what panel you actually have. this is meant to be a way of telling without opening the box.
