How would I go about changing to HDMI?

Hey all,
Currently im plugged into dvi, i think, or maybe vga. The point is, would i gain anything but switching to hdmi? (my monitor supports it). if so, how would i go about switching this? Look at sig for specs..
 
HDMI is digital - and somewhat similar to DVI. It gives the option of carrying sound - should you want it. Unless you are trying to watch protected content (BluRay) and if you are on DVI already - there is not too much of a reason to "upgrade".

The way you would do it - buy a new video card that has an HDCP HDMI port.
 
DVI can carry HDCP and you can get DVI to HDMI adapters, so HDCP protected content should still work since you've got an 8800. I was just reading another thread about problems with an 8800 and a receiver though, so apparently HDCP support with an 8800 may be flaky. Might work, might get annoying. I wouldn't worry about it unless you want sound over HDMI, have trouble with protected content, or just want a faster vid card.
 
If you don't even know if you are connected via DVI or VGA, there is absolutely no incentive for you to upgrade.
