Ive been hanging to watercool my new AMD/Quadro system, ive been runnning it as a stock air cooled setup in a "CoFF CoFF" TT shark case

Finally brought a BIXII rad and already having all the other parts decided with a spare afternoon it was time to do some plumbing!

Well i got the System out to the shed and thought...... F  ck this shark case is a joke!

Deciding to use an old fav, i pulled out HP1 dusted her off made one minor mod to the rear for the pumbing and the old girl was set to beath life again :)

The old HP1 box.

Still got shine on her that makes me proud today, so i dusted her off and got to work!

First off was to work out a way of mounting a BIX2 rad without any major modding,

i came up with a awkward but solid way to "piggyback" the rad!

using an old gutted 120 sunnon fan this would be the new mount.

and without having to drill or mod the case (accept for 2 small hose feeder holes) the whole setup bolts right on to all the existing points.

IMG_2489.jpg

for now im just using shitty antec 120's but i can easily upgrade these later.

IMG_2490.jpg

Heres how it bolts on! almost tooo easy

IMG_2491.jpg

I've beeeeeen hanging to bolt this DD nv-68 on to my quadro for ages now!!!!! finally got it done :)

Next was to bolt the board in with the card and fit up one of my very own made "fatboy" res's!!

felt great finally getting a reason to use this res :)

IMG_2510.jpg

The pump of choice for this proggy is a swifty mpc 650, a bit wineeeee but a good pump.

IMG_2514.jpg

Time to "plumb-up" , i love this part of any water cooling mod :)

its always a challenge to find a way of making the hoses flow, while the look isn't as good as Zak's SLB mod r HPR2 it's not too bad, the NV68 always adds a challenge!

Choice of PSU is a OCZ powerthingy, damm good psu! worth the stretch on the hip pocket.

Heres she is as i type this now :)

not too bad for an arvo's work and it felt great to drag out the old girl and breath some fresh life into her :)

I'll add some funky lighting soon and crank up the MHZ and let you guys know how it goes :)

for now! it back to some serious modding!

i did rush it a bit wanting to get it all up and running, and noticed the weight of the DDNV68 and the water is making the quadro bow

IMG_3229.jpg

with that in mind and armed with thought that anything that can be done with metal can be done better with plex! i made a neXXo bracket :)

IMG_3222.jpg

Cut and checking for clearance.

IMG_3223.jpg

Holes :)

IMG_3225.jpg

A bit milling to miss vital caps

IMG_3226.jpg

IMG_3227.jpg

Sanded edges polished and fitted up.

IMG_3235.jpg

Card sits nice and even now.

IMG_3230.jpg

Cheers Homer tyvm :)

while i had it out on the workbench i decided to add a vent and some light effects and some batter cooling.

picked these up for 2 bux @ the local auto shop the other day.

IMG_3240.jpg

for now im just sicking it on to see if i like the idea,

IMG_3241.jpg

Does it work?

IMG_3243.jpg

Also decided to turn the side fans around and put them to good use.

Some new centers were cut to hide the ugly white paper ones :) and chrome grills added.

IMG_3200.jpg

IMG_3204.jpg

IMG_3209.jpg

They now blow air in and across the pump.

IMG_3210.jpg

Light moods!

thought i'd also add some internal UV's and a CCF to make the side fan and grill glow cool.

awesome case. nice clean work on this one. i like the reflective paint a lot.
<- add about 6k to that, the numbers are off

JEBUS that is one hella shiny case!!!

oh, and something, i dont know if you did or not....
but something i notice a lot of watercooling modders do, is connnect everything and do a few passes of water, to make sure there are no leaks before putting the blocks on the componets :p maybe keep that in mind next time, i wasnt able to read it cause the pictures were to nicccccccccccccccccccccccce!!!! :D

amazeing work my friend very nice

soulsaver_8229

Wow, good work.

but how do you get to your video/sound card? Is the radiator out of the way? I can't tell the width of the case

How much does the plexi cost that you milled?
That looks like something I want to do but didn't know where to get the material.

Nice dude, it's simply beautiful, makes me want to work on my Tux Project...but then I remember Fedex still has my computers :(

You should work on a FedEx project, consisting of a Gun and Ammo.

probably one of the cleanest WC setups. excellent work, great detail.

What water additive did you use, exactly? - can you post a link?

thats just good old car radiator coolant! any gas station will sell it, i just mix it till its the color green i like :D

Well guys! a tru mod never ends......... well i had to come up with a saying that justifies me taking the pc back out onto the work bench :p

it all started here! i was working on this idea for a PLEX FLAME MOD, basically just flames cut from clear 3mm plex and sanded for a "frost" look...

IMG_3405.jpg

IMG_3406.jpg

IMG_3410.jpg

some lighting ideas and combos!

IMG_3419.jpg

IMG_3435.jpg

IMG_3441.jpg

I decided to try some RED and YELLOW!

i made up some custom spot lights

IMG_3443.jpg

IMG_3452.jpg

IMG_3453.jpg

IMG_3454.jpg

Time to light up!

IMG_3479.jpg

IMG_3491.jpg

IMG_3492.jpg

So it was time to take the pc out back and tinker!!!

first i made a custom grill to cover and finish the back of the case off

IMG_3554.jpg

IMG_3556.jpg

IMG_3557.jpg

IMG_3562.jpg

IMG_3564.jpg

Next was the top divider, using 2 layers of green plex, top layer

IMG_3530.jpg

IMG_3531.jpg

IMG_3522.jpg

With the divider in some outside shots

IMG_3524.jpg

IMG_3526.jpg

IMG_3527.jpg

Also decided to add some green light to the custom VGA bracket and the GPU cooler block.

IMG_3565.jpg

IMG_3569.jpg

IMG_3591.jpg

IMG_3603.jpg

Time to add the flames!!!

IMG_3529.jpg

some subtle blue lighting

IMG_3612.jpg

and some mid range red

IMG_3614.jpg

Well I do have my Location filled in :)

And I liked the mod before you added the flames.. now it's just.. not as nice :(

it does look kinda busy now... bit too much going on IMO. too many colors...

flames look cool, but seem kinda out of place.

definitely some quality worksmanship, though.
mwhahaha

Love it, great work!

The water system looks great - Really clean, the tubing layout seems different, and looks very effective. It's a shame the flames are hiding that, actually.

This being inside an old OEM case refurbished to [H] standards... Is what makes this a [H]ard Case, IMHO. :D

You know what I'd like to see, and the cool factor is huge here - Ever considered replacing the area around the drives with clear, lit plexi? Further, ever considered the possibilities of making the WC system's resevoir inside that space?

Oh, can't forget about the video card bracket - That's teh win!

man i really dig the green dividers, that is a great idea. i think the flames are a bit much but everything else looks amazing.

thanx guys :) decided to remove the divider... wasnt sure it added to the mod.

i think it looks cleaner without it.

IMG_4354.jpg

IMG_4355.jpg

Damn thats nice! What a flawles job, everything down to the plexi flames is excellent. Not only did you manage to manage the wire, you even managed the WC pipes!

WOW!!! very nice.... and what kinda of paint and how did u get it so glossy? is it that clear gloss paint? :)
