I received my EODIS2 a few days ago.

I tried to calibrate it using easy settings, Target: Native, Result: 4800K
I tried to calibrate it using advanced settings: Target 6500K, Result: 6500K

My display ends up looking washed out, brownish/redish after the calibration.

It looks considerably more crisp with the previous settings I had.

Any ideas?

tl;dr
eye-one display 2 is giving bad results.

Exchange it for a new one. Unless you got suckered on one of those e-bay auctions.

i purchased it from newegg.

Is there a way to test and see if its the device causing the problem or the software?

Maybe Windows 7 is goofy with it?

Mine works without issue in Windows 7 and my results are good with it, but they can be mis-calibrated from the factory and have a habit of putting in a cast to all the color. I would RMA it and get a new one.

What monitor do you have? A native white point at 4800K is very warm.

Did you have a color cast with both Easy (Native) and Advanced (6500K)?

Does it pass the i1Diagnostics?

i1Diagnostics doesn't even detect the device.
Edit: Turns out, with my printer plugged in, i1Diagnostics doesn't work right. I unplugged it, and all is well.

And yes, I had a brownish color issue with 6500K as well. I'll try to find a digital camera and take pics.
