installed mandrake 10.1, uninstalled, and now it wont go away

I uninstalled linux. it was on my 10 gig second hard drive. it was a dual boot setup between mandrake and xp. XP sits on the 200 gig primary. after I formatted the second drive, the prompt to boot to either windows or linux still comes up. If i take the 10 gig off, the computer doesnt load windows at all. after it POSTs, like 0101010101010101010101010101x1000 comes up.......very wierd. can someone tell me how to get rid of it? I dont like the 10 gig, its too loud.

Unhook the 10 gig and boot from your XP disk. Go to the repair console, type FIXMBR, and that will take care of your problem.

After you do that, if you want to install the 10 GB again, make sure the 200GB is set to boot in the BIOS.
