Seems like I've got the parts for the ultimate computer but I'm not sure what power supply I need. Most of the time I'll be using all quad cores for encoding video but will definately heat things up with some gaming. Here's the build:

LIAN LI PC-8B Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112177)
EVGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188046)
Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 965 Nehalem 3.2GHz [130w] (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115200)
Noctua SE1366 120mm SSO CPU Cooler (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608007)
mushkin 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146777)
EVGA GeForce GTX 295 [EVGA recommends 680w PSU minimum] (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130453)
(2 drives but not in RAID setup) Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB 10000 RPM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136322)
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829102019)
Intel 10/100/1000Mbps PCI-Express Gigabit Ethernet (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106006)
**Thermaltake Thoughpower 850W (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153072)

Thanks in advance!

Given the high end nature of your build, I recommend a PSU to match the quality & large enough for cool/quiet operation.

If you are staying with just one 295, then the Corsair 850W would be ideal as you will be operating in the sweat spot for cool/quiet operation,
of course the PC P&C 750W would also be an excellent choice or for the ultimate the Antec Signature 850W.

Enjoy,
Dave :)

davidhammock200 - Thanks for the reply. I'm glad to hear that a 850 watt power supply will be perfect for my build. I do plan on using one graphics card and never two. I checked out your recommendations and really like the Antec Signature 850W. I checked out the review on [H]ardOCP and noticed it was 80 Plus Bronze certified which made it my choice for the build. Thanks again for the reply! :D

An excellent PSU: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story&reid=101

A top performer from a solid company that has been offering quality for years.

Excellent Choice!
Dave :)

To everyone - I chose on 4 gigs because I had planned to use the 32bit XP then use the 32bit Windows 7 when it comes out but decided to get 6 gigs after all. If the software I use runs on 64bit Windows then I'll be ready with 6 gigs of ram. Plus the future is heading towards 64bit which is another reason to get 6 gigs of ram which the 64bit OS can use.

Thanks for the replys. It's not really a money issue but more of what's the best quality I can get for a solid build. I may even change the fans on the case with Noctua fans since they appear to be silent and very good at pushing air. It may the little things but overall everything counts.

If you want the absolute best quality, the Signature 850 is it. It's really in a league of its own.
