KB2770917 for Windows 8 x64

Has anyone else here had problems installing KB2770917? I have had it fail on 2 machines. Googling it shows me that there are other people having the problem. but no real answers as to why. I have already formatted one of them previously due to Windows Update no longer working. If I have to do it again 7 is going back on.

yeah i saw that yesterday on another forum, decided to try it on my netbook to see what happens and it worked, then i updated my other three machines and no problems either, this is a weird one, for some it works and for others dont but dont worry man, just use it normally, usually ms take at least three days to fix this kind of thing.

I found the suggestion to disable all non Microsoft services with msconfig and run the update and then re-enable them. It worked for me so I am calling it good though it was incredibly frustrating to get to that point.

Interesting. I see Symantec uses it. If I find out it is a Norton issue it is gone. I also see Logitech uses it. Why? The only software they make is for their hardware, right?
