LCD TV vs LCD Monitor

What's the difference? If the Dell 2407 is 769. Why not buy a 30" + for 1200 and use it as a monitor?

And if theres no DVI input, you can always use DVI to HDMI.
 
Two things:
1) Resolution is usually higher on monitors
2) Dot pitch is much tighter on smaller displays... (i.e. sharper image on a smaller display)
 
Also lcdtv's generally have more connection options...and the ones they do have (component for example) tend to work better.

edit- tv's also have onboard video processing whereas many "monitors" don't..
 
by definition, a tv must have some sort of tuner in it, as well, while monitors usually have none.
