Long time verizon BB pearl user, looking to switch to iphone 3gs

I currently use my pearl for texting, google calendar, emails from my gmail act. I really dont use the phone alot, maybe 50min a month. I do surf on the pearl but the screen is too small, so unless i am in a jam & bored i will use it.

The iphone seems better suited to my needs with a plus in games, apps, surfing. The texting / mms..how will that work with all my contacts that are on the verizon network. Reading that the mms will not work when phone is released.

any info much appreciated.
